Through 830 pm, scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will move southeast 5 to 10 knots through the distant Straits of Florida, the SE Gulf between the Dry Tortugas and D Tower, and across the Upper Keys into the eastern Hawk Channel. This activity is capable of occasional to frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts of near 25 knots, and blinding downpours. On land, a few island communities between Ocean Reef and Key Largo may receive a tenth of an inch of rainfall. $$ NB
