Much of the area saw showers and thunderstorms overnight with
portions of north central seeing heavy rainfall. Some locations
observed 3 to 6 inches of rain with this activity and rain
showers continue this morning. Low temperatures ranged from 50
degrees at Gordon to 63 degrees at Broken Bow.

Today, additional chances for rain and thunderstorms exist. A
highly conditional threat for severe thunderstorms exists across
almost all of western and north central Nebraska. Storms that do
develop will be capable of producing large to very large hail,
damaging wind, locally heavy rain, and a tornado or two. Timing
for severe weather is generally 4 to 10 PM CT though additional
redevelopment will be possible overnight. High temperatures today
will warm into the low 80s across northwest Nebraska to upper 90s
across southwest Nebraska.
