Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
1027 AM CDT Tue Jun 18 2024 /927 AM MDT Tue Jun 18 2024/

Around midnight CT, an area of low pressure and associated cold
front moved east across the Nebraska Panhandle. As the front moved
eastward strong southerly winds backed to the northwest and
remained gusty with some observation sites in the west noting wind
gusts up to 56 miles per hour at Imperial shortly after midnight.
The stronger winds and cloud coverage kept the air mixed where
overnight lows ranged from 54 degrees in the Panhandle, ranging
into the upper 70s on the east end of the state.

Today the cold front will continue to push east with gusty
northwest winds and temperatures peaking in the upper 60s in
portions of the northwest sandhills to middle 80s southwest. A
marginal risk for severe thunderstorms remains possible for the
far eastern portions of the forecast area to include communities
east of a line from O`Neill, southwest to Westerville and
Stockville.
