Upper low continues to make its way around the Silver state and will b ring a last gasp chance of a few storms and showers for central Nevada. High Pressure to build on Saturday and will bring a pattern change to quiet conditions through the end of the week. && .SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday Night Today through Saturday upper level trough will continue its track around the Silver State today and Saturday as it crosses southern California and moves into Arizona and over the four corners region. This will leave Nevada in the trough axis for today before it begins to slide east Saturday giving way to a building upper ridge moving in off the Pacific coast. For sensible weather, there is a low 20% chance for a few showers and thunderstorms across central Nevada, mainly along and south of the US-50 corridor, and east of Eureka. Only very light accumulations can be expected, up to 0.05" if you`re lucky to find a shower, as most will stay dry. These showers should quickly dissipate after sunset this evening leaving partly cloudy skies. Saturday Looks to be the start of a quiet spell, as high pressure starts to build in from the Pacific. With the low off to our SW, this will place NV under northerly flow aloft which will bring a few passing clouds and seasonable cool temperatures. Temperatures through Sunday morning look to be in the mid 70s to mid 80s for highs, and overnight lows falling into the mid 30s to mid 40s. Winds will be relatively light across most of the area, the exception will be across some of the ridge peaks for Nye and White Pine county closer to the upper low. Winds will be northerly at 5 to 15 MPH with a few gusts up to 25 The range peaks may see northerly winds of 15 MPH to 25 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH. .LONG TERM...Sunday through next Friday Warm and dry to end the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and lows in the 30s and 40s. Showers will be possible in SE White Pine county on Monday evening. A ridge of high pressure will build over the western U.S. by midweek, pushing highs into the upper 70s and lows into the 40s. The ridge axis will push east by Thursday in response to a low pressure system building off the west coast. Warm and dry weather will persist across the region through late next week. && .AVIATION... Afternoon breezes with gusts around 18KT dissipate thru this evening with generally light winds tonight. VCSH will come to an end at KTPH around 06Z. VCTS at KELY transitions to VCSH around 04Z, with VCSH coming to an end around 08Z tonight. Fair weather Saturday with continued VFR conditions. Afternoon breezes will be present Saturday with gusts around 18KT to 20KT at KPTH and KELY, slightly more modest across northern terminals KWMC, KBAM, and KEKO. && .FIRE WEATHER... Upper trough and associated upper low will continue to track around the Silver state Today and Saturday. There is a low 20% chance of a few thunderstorms across central Nevada this afternoon, mainly along and south of US-50 and East of Eureka. There is a possibility a few of these storms could be dry leading to a period of elevated fire weather conditions through sunset. After this evening, quiet pattern begins with light northerly winds and partly cloudy skies through Wednesday as the ridge moves in overhead, quiet pattern continues under SW flow aloft as the ridge shifts east with slowly warming temperatures. && .LKN Watches/Warnings/Advisories...
