670 FZUS63 KMQT 251343 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 943 AM EDT Wed Sep 25 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.8 inch low pressure centered over Manitoulin Island this morning lifts into northern Ontario today. Meanwhile, a 30.0 inch high pressure builds over the Mid- Mississippi Valley today before building to 30.1 inches over the western Great Lakes by Thursday morning. High pressure ridging continues over the Great Lakes at 30.0 inches Friday into Saturday despite the remnants of a 29.6 inch tropical system over the Southeast and a 29.7 inch low over Hudson Bay. High pressure ridging builds over the Upper Great Lakes to 30.1 inches Sunday as a 30.2 inch high pressure moves into northern Ontario from the west.
