Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

High pressure will remain anchored offshore through the weekend,
resulting in a prolonged period of heat. Dry weather is expected
today. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms may be possible to the
west of the Blue Ridge on Friday, and then across the entire
forecast area this weekend. The heat is forecast to peak Saturday
into Sunday. Another round of thunderstorms is possible Monday
afternoon as a frountal boundary pushes through.
