Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
126 PM CDT Tue Jun 4 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Very low relative humidities and high ERCs continue to create an
elevated fire weather threat west of the Davis Mountains this
afternoon. Light winds will prevent critical fire weather
conditions from developing. The fire weather threat is reduced the
remainder of the week as minimum afternoon humidities increase
slightly and winds remain light to modest. The threat for
thunderstorms will increase through the week across the higher
terrain and adjacent plains. This will present a lightning start
risk beginning tomorrow.
