Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
125 PM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...

As a tropical disturbance passes to the south over northern
Mexico, increased RH, clouds, and rain chances, especially west of
the Pecos River, will keep fire risk low today. After Friday,
rain chances will be confined to the Sacramento Foothills and
Davis Mountains, with fire starts from lightning possible.
Otherwise, despite warming temperatures after Friday, light winds,
good overnight recovery, and min RH above critical 15% will
prevent widespread fire weather conditions from developing this
weekend into next week.
