.Multiple days of rainfall has saturated soils across north
Mississippi. As of 825 AM, another round of heavy rainfall is
approaching Monroe and Chickasaw Counties. Small streams may quickly
rise to bankfull, resulting in water over roadways.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of North Mississippi, including the following
  counties, Chickasaw and Monroe.

* WHEN...Until 1130 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 824 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
    flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
    advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Amory, Aberdeen, Okolona, New Wren, Prairie, Nettleton,
    Hatley, East Aberdeen, Wren, Becker, Binford, Bigbee, Egypt,
    Muldon, Strong, New Hamilton, Quincy and Leotis.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
