...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN WASHINGTON...
NORTHWESTERN HYDE...WEST CENTRAL DARE...NORTHEASTERN BEAUFORT AND
TYRRELL COUNTIES THROUGH 245 PM EDT...

At 220 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Frying Pan Landing to near Ponzer.
Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Stumpy Point, Killkenny, Ponzer, Alligator, Gum Neck, Kilkenny,
Scranton, Fairfield, Pungo, Columbia, Woodley, Pike Road, Leechville,
Rose Bay, Wenona, Newfoundland, Fort Landing, Phelps Lake, Lake
Mattamuskeet, and Frying Pan Landing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
