.Discussion...
An area of low pressure (AL92) located offshore near the
northeast Florida coast continues to move west-northwest away
from east central Florida and towards the northeast Florida and
Georgia coasts. East to southeast winds at 5-10 mph with gusts to
15-20mph this afternoon will weaken into the late evening hours.
Isolated showers and lightning storms are forecast this afternoon
and early evening with the main lightning storm hazards expected
to be gusty winds, occasional lightning strikes, and moderate to
brief heavy rainfall.
Sea breeze driven showers and lightning storms are expected to
develop into the afternoon Saturday (PoPs at 50-70%) with the main
hazards expected to be occasional to frequent lightning strikes,
wind gusts up to 30-40mph, and moderate to brief heavy
rainfall.Patchy fog is forecast Sunday morning mainly between 5am
and 9am. Patchy ground fog will have the potential to reduce
visibility to a half mile or less at times mainly over the
Treasure Coast and northern Lake and Volusia counties. Southeast
winds are forecast to increase into the afternoon at 8-12mph with
gusts to around 20mph forecast along the east coast sea breeze.
Dispersion values will be Generally Good. Afternoon highs in the
upper 80s to mid 90s with heat index (HI) values generally in the
100-108 degree range (HI up to 110 degrees over Lake county) are
forecast under partly cloudy to partly sunny skies.
Fog potential and other remarks...widespread fog is not expected
into Saturday. Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from
new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not
forecast.
