FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
559 AM EDT Sun Sep 22 2024

...COLD FRONT EXITS UPPER MICHIGAN TODAY...

.DISCUSSION: A cold front moves across the east half of Upper
MI this morning. This results in an uptick in showers and
thunderstorms over central Upper MI early this morning which
progresses east through this evening. No severe weather is
anticipated and accumulations will remain light, mainly around a
few hundreths to 0.25". Temperatures will be cooler today in the
60s and RHs will not be much of a concern with lowest values in
the 50s expected in the west. Northwest winds in the wake of the
cold front will be strong in the keweenaw and near Lake Superior,
gusting up to 25-30 mph.

Dry weather returns to the entire U.P. from west to east by late
this evening. Colder temps in the mid 30s to upper 40s, warmer
near Lake Superior, are expected tonight. RHS make a full recovery
and some patchy fog and frost may develop in the west as winds
taper off. Monday will be quiet with light winds, mostly sunny
skies and min RHs in the low 40s to low 50s.
