Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure is located over the southwest Gulf, with a mean 1006 mb center, AL93, near 21.5N95W. Strong winds surround the low center to the S of 26N and W of 92W, and have increased to gale-force between Tampico and Veracruz this afternoon. Winds are expected to diminish below gale-force this evening. Environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this system as it moves slowly northwestward, and a tropical depression could form over the western Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Moderate to fresh winds and moderate seas prevail E of 90W and will diminish to gentle to moderate and slight seas tonight and to light to gentle speeds on Sun through Wed. Conditions are forecast to improve W of 90W Sun afternoon into Mon as the low pressure system moves inland across Mexico.
