935 FXUS64 KOHX 271607 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 1107 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM... .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Friday) Issued at 1052 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 Yesterday`s frontal passage has completely cleared Middle Tennessee, but we may still see a few showers this afternoon in areas to the southeast of Nashville. By this evening, we will be rain-free. Temperatures today will top out in the 80s, but we`ll heat right back up starting tomorrow. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Thursday) Issued at 1052 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 A lot of the moisture that headed south with yesterday`s fropa will drift back northward Friday and Saturday. In addition, the next frontal boundary will approach Middle Tennessee from the northwest this weekend. This will result in at least isolated convection tomorrow and tomorrow night, especially along the Cumberland Plateau, with more widespread activity developing Saturday, Saturday night, and especially on Sunday with the expected passage of this surface boundary. Temperatures on Saturday will be especially hot, and a Heat Advisory may been needed for Saturday as heat indices are expected to exceed 105F in many areas west of the Plateau. Temperatures will back off after Sunday`s fropa -- for a day -- but will spike upward starting on Tuesday, with Heat Advisory criteria possibly being met next Wednesday and Thursday. At this time, we are not outlooked for any severe storms, although the SPC does have a marginal risk area to our immediate north on Sunday. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 609 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 Cigs have improved to MVFR at all mid-state terminals, but these may stick around until 16-18Z before VFR returns. Winds will remain light (10 kts or less) and mainly northeasterly. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
