...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EASTERN ORANGE AND PUTNAM
COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 AM EDT...

At 1142 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Modena to near Monroe.
Movement was east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Newburgh, Mahopac, Monroe, Lake Carmel, Walden, West Point, Cold
Spring, New Windsor, Carmel, Gardnertown, Chester, Montgomery,
Harriman, Fahnestock State Park, and Kiryas Joel.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
