599 FXUS63 KPAH 160637 AFDPAH Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Paducah KY 137 AM CDT Mon Sep 16 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Last gasp showers/storms will linger across southeast Missouri today, with perhaps up to an additional quarter of an inch of rainfall possible in the Ozarks. - Warm and dry conditions are expected for the rest of the week into next weekend. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 135 AM CDT Mon Sep 16 2024 One more day of lingering pops for southeast Missouri can be expected as the drier air needs about another 24 hours to advect westward thru the remainder of the FA. Up to an additional 1/4" or so of rainfall is possible across the Ozarks. High pressure increasingly asserts its influence upon our sensible weather after today, returning dry conditions with dew points in the 50s to lower 60s for the duration of the forecast. That`ll make the above normal temperatures in the upper 80s more bearable at least, with night-time lows dropping to around 60. While next pcpn chances do appear by day 7 in the blend, it`s a limited chance at this point and contingent upon the high being pinched off enough by approaching areas of low pressure that remain centered some considerable distance away. As a result, won`t argue its slight chance mention, but also won`t be shocked to eventually see the models waffle on that by a day or two either. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z TUESDAY/... Issued at 135 AM CDT Mon Sep 16 2024 We`ll have to watch out for pre dawn fog potentially offering vsby restrictions, particulary at KCGI. Otherwise, mid-upper level VFR bases are forecast across the terminals today as dry advection wins out despite some lingering shower/storm chance just south and west of KCGI. Early day CIGS should ultimately scatter and clear over the back half of the forecast as high pressure increasingly asserts its grip upon our sensible weather forecast. && .PAH WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
