The passage of an upper level shortwave and surface cold front
will support showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening
across the entire region. Strong to damaging winds, cloud to
ground lightning, and locally heavy rain that could lead to flash
flooding are the main hazards for this event.
High pressure and dry northwest flor behind this system will
foster seasonable temperature and lower humidities Thursday.
Return of warm, moist southerly flow is anticipated Friday
(raising area temperature) before the next upper level wave
crosses Saturday.
