Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
405 AM MDT Thu Jun 13 2024

.Discussion...

Critical fire weather conditions are not anticipated due to fuels,
although winds and heat will be ramping up for Sunday and through
the mid part of next week, which may help to start the drying
process for fuels.

Today will be even drier and much hotter, with some record heat
possible over the plains as high temperatures approach the 105
degree mark for some locations within the Lower Arkansas River
Valley.

Chances of precipitation with widespread showers and thunderstorms
will be likely on Friday as a potent disturbance moves over the
district, with a good chance of a wetting rain for most locations.
It will be notably cooler as well.

On Saturday, it will begin warming back up, with even hotter
temperatures expected by Sunday and Monday. There will be a chance
of some isolated thunderstorms on Saturday, but then be mostly dry
on Sunday and through the mid part of next week.

Smoke dispersion will become Very Good to Excellent across the
district today, then become Poor tonight, improving to Fair to Good
tomorrow.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
