Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
243 PM MDT Sun Jun 23 2024

.Discussion...

While it will be very hot and dry for much of the district, no
critical fire weather concerns are anticipated over the district
throughout the next week due to a lack of strong and gusty winds
meeting the threshold.

Tomorrow will see very hot conditions for the lower elevations, and
especially within the lower Arkansas River Valley, where there could
be some highs approaching 105 degrees. There are Heat Advisories in
place for El Paso, Pueblo, and eastern Fremont counties. Isolated
thunderstorms will develop over the higher terrain, and a low
probability (less than 20 percent) of occurrence over the far
eastern plains, during the afternoon.

It will be hot again on Tuesday, with thunderstorms possible again
during the afternoon, mainly over the higher terrain. More
widespread showers and thunderstorms will be possible beginning
Wednesday, and continuing into next weekend, with a slight cooldown
and higher probability of a wetting rain over much of the district.

Smoke dispersion will be generally Good to Very Good for much of the
district tomorrow, then becoming Poor overnight, and returning to
Good to Very Good on Tuesday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
