.DISCUSSION...

Before beginning, the overall confidence in this forecast is
relatively high. Now...

No significant weather is anticipated now through about 8 AM
Saturday morning.

Clouds will begin to increase during the 7 AM through 11 AM time
period Saturday morning, with ceilings developing after 11 AM and
rapidly dropping to the ground level (mountain enveloped within
clouds) after 2pm. The earliest precip could develop as early as 9
AM, but will become near certain by early to mid afternoon.
Precip will initially be liquid but should quickly go to snow by
mid afternoon. Snow chances will be near 100% after 3 pm lasting
through the saturday night time period. The precipitation could be
heavy through saturday night.

Expect low to zero visibility from 3 pm, and especially through
late Saturday afternoon and through Saturday night.

Winds are not expected to be all that strong with this storm (by
Pikes Peak standards), with winds from the west at 10 to 15 mph
with gusts to 35 mph from now through midnight tonight, with winds
decreasing late tonight at 10 to 20 mph. For tomorrow, winds will
be relatively light, 10 to 15 mph with winds from the northeast.

As for thunder, there will be occasional lightning flashes
through the time period, however the instability with this event
over Pikes Peak is relatively weak.

Sunday, The morning will be the worse. Precip is likely in the AM
with clearing beginning by late morning into the early afternoon.
ceilings in the morning will be low (mountain likely in-cloud) with
ceilings lifting starting late morning into the afternoon.

Overall snow accumulations up top will generally be in the 4 to 8
in range.

I will be ready for more detailed questions at the 6 pm Google
Meet. We will be able to look at ANY forecast point on Pikes Peak,
as long as you have the LAT and LONG to give me.
