...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT MOORE...HARNETT...SOUTHEASTERN
MONTGOMERY...LEE AND SOUTHERN CHATHAM COUNTIES THROUGH 845 PM EDT...

At 738 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles northwest of Carthage, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Sanford, Southern Pines, Lillington, Carthage, Pinehurst, Aberdeen,
Angier, Whispering Pines, Broadway, and Robbins.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Doppler radar has indicated weak rotation with this storm. If the
storm intensifies and rotation strengthens, a warning may need to be
issued.
