.DISCUSSION...

A quiet weather pattern is in store for the foreseeable future.
Dry weather along with an upward trend in temperatures is expected
into the weekend. Daily high temperatures will reach the 70s to
mid 80s for the eastern Sierra communities and northeast CA.
Mainly 80s to low 90s are expected for western NV, and the lower
elevations of Lassen and Mono counties. These readings are around
8-12 degrees above average for late September.

A weak trough passing through the region on Sunday will lead to a
slight uptick in the winds for Saturday, with gusts of 25 mph
along the Sierra ridges and in western NV. Although we`re not
expecting any critical fire weather conditions, it`s still plenty
dry outside, with low RHs.

The ensembles show a ridge building back into the eastern Pacific,
western US into the middle of next week. Blended guidance is
picking up on this pattern, with above average temperatures
expected through this period. After Wednesday through the end of
next week, ensembles start to diverge in their solutions to the
upper air pattern. Thus, temperatures will trend to climatology in
the long term with no precipitation.
