016 WGUS81 KRNK 180729 FLSRNK Flood Statement National Weather Service Blacksburg VA 329 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 NCC169-171-181015- /O.CON.KRNK.FA.W.0024.000000T0000Z-240918T1015Z/ /00000.0.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Stokes NC-Surry NC- 329 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 ...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of north central North Carolina, including the following counties, Stokes and Surry. * WHEN...Until 615 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 327 AM EDT, Slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall moved across the warned area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Beaverdam Creek, Ararat River, Baker Branch, Archies Creek and Beaver Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
