Weather hazards expected... Limited lightning risk. Limited excessive heat risk. Limited excessive rainfall risk DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms are ongoing northwest of Springfield. These will continue with chances for showers and thunderstorms increasing through this morning. Severe weather is not expected today, but lightning and brief heavy downpours will be the main hazards with this round of storms. Heat Index values today will be in the 95 to 102 degree range. The higher values will be west of Highway 65. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Sunday with lightning and brief heavy downpours being the main hazard. There is a Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for severe weather Sunday for wind gusts up to 60 mph.
