Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
308 PM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Monday)
Issued at 233 PM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

Another unseasonably warm day is in progress across west central
Texas. Temperatures as of 3PM are in the mid 90s across the area
despite some mid level stratus in place. Isolated to scattered
showers and storms have developed to the east of our area over
central Texas. CAMs continue to indicate showers and storms
developing across our eastern counties this afternoon and into
the evening hours. Will continue to carry a slight chance of PoPs
to account for this scenario. Otherwise, expect overnight lows in
the 60s and lower 70s. Highs on Monday will be in the mid 90s.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 212 PM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

An upper-level ridge building across much of West Central Texas
this coming week will keep warm and dry conditions in the forecast
through the end of the week. Models continue to show signs of an
upper-level trough sweeping into the region from the west and
bringing some rain chances for Friday and Saturday next week.
However, confidence remains low at this time in the timing and
placement of any showers that do develop. High temperatures for
this week look to remain in the low to mid 90s through much of the
week. However, any increased cloud cover or showers could bring
those temperatures down slightly later in the week and into the
weekend.
