254 FNUS75 KSLC 161057 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for Last Chance RX...USFS National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 457 AM MDT Sun Jun 16 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0600 MDT on June 16. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Increasingly strong and dry southwesterly winds will spread over the burn area today, increasing the overall threat of critical fire weather conditions. Humidity is expected to bottom out in the low- to mid-teens with winds peaking around 25-30 mph. Winds will remain elevated through the overnight hours and help to contribute to poor humidity recoveries. Winds continue to increase through Monday afternoon ahead of an approaching dry cold front, where gusts may peak around 35-40 mph before the cold front arrives. The most likely time of arrival of the cold front looks to fall between 1600 and 2000. Winds will shift out of a northwesterly direction as the front progresses over the burn and will remain out of the northwest through the overnight hours. Humidity recoveries are likely to increase alongside the cooler temperatures, however, the dry nature of the front will create continued dry conditions heading into Tuesday. .TODAY...
