.DISCUSSION...Showers and thunderstorms will develop Friday
afternoon across portions of northern Utah, first developing as
isolated to scattered storms over higher terrain during the
afternoon, producing minimal rainfall. Hi-res models then suggest
a brief break in showers during the late afternoon ahead of a
line of showers/thunderstorms arriving around 1800-2000...with
lingering uncertainty in the exact timing. Despite uncertainties,
showers are likely to wrap up by midnight. Any storms that develop
on Friday will be capable of producing gusty and erratic outflow
winds around 40-50 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph possible (15%
chance). Showers on Saturday will still be capable of gusty winds,
however peak gusts will likely be lower than on Friday.
