051 FNUS75 KSLC 021508 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for PONDEROSA Rx...USFS National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 908 AM MDT Tue Jul 2 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0900 MDT on July 02. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Dry and sunny to mostly sunny conditions expected Tuesday, with afternoon minimum relative humidity expected to fall to around 20% or so. Winds pick up out of the west to northwest, increasing to around 7-15 mph in the afternoon with gusts to around 20 mph. Winds quickly decrease Tuesday evening into the overnight hours, becoming light and variable to light easterly and down drainage. A similar pattern to winds is then expected for Wednesday with winds shifting west to northwest by late morning, and increasing into the afternoon. Maximum winds are expected to be higher Wednesday, with sustained values more in the 10-20 mph range and gusts up to around 30 mph. Continued drying conditions are also expected with afternoon minimum relative humidity values dropping a few percent or so. Looking at more of an extended forecast, the general pattern looks to favor increasing influence of a building ridge of high pressure. This will pattern will offer little to no chance of wetting rainfall in addition to further warming and continued day to day minimum relative humidity values likely in the teens. .REST OF TODAY...
