Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Sacramento CA
145 AM PDT Fri Sep 20 2024

.Synopsis...
Warm and dry weather returns today and continues into next week
with breezy north winds at times in the Central Valley. Elevated
fire weather concerns will be possible early next week.

&&

.Discussion...
Other than a few debris clouds left over from Thursday evening`s
convection over the Sierra, skies are clear across interior NorCal
early this morning. Current temperatures are mostly running around
3-9 degrees milder compared to 24 hours ago, except in areas
influenced by a moderately strong ongoing Delta Breeze where
temperatures are similar to yesterday.

Dry and warmer weather returns into next week as the upper low
responsible for the cooler and more unsettled weather of the past
few days moves away from the region allowing high pressure from
the eastern Pacific to build. Highs will return to the 90s across
the valley over the weekend into early next week, and humidity
will gradually lower with periods of breezy north wind in the
Central Valley each day. By Monday, elevated fire weather
concerns will be possible.

&&

.EXTENDED DISCUSSION (Tuesday THROUGH Friday)...

wave troughs move through the PacNW through midweek. Desert SW
high begins to build over CA by the end of the week. Dry weather
expected through the extended period. Locally gusty north to east
wind Tuesday. High temperatures trend down to near normal by
Thursday then warm slightly Friday.

&&
