...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN GEARY AND SOUTHWESTERN WABAUNSEE COUNTIES...

At 648 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles west of
Volland, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 640 PM CDT a trained spotter
         reported 70 to 80 mph winds 8 miles ESE of Grandview Plaza.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Alma, Alta Vista, and Volland.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 323 and 327.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
and east central Kansas.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
