At 1028 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain over much of eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas and also east of a Eufaula to Hugo
line. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain were located in Latimer,
Muskogee and Sequoyah counties in Oklahoma. The precipitation was in
the Fort Smith and Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville areas.
Movement was to the southeast at around 30 mph. The average amount
where it rained last hour was one tenth to one quarter of an inch
with maximum amounts of an inch to an inch and a half. Coverage
increased during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for
overnight, showers and thunderstorms likely with damaging winds and
large hail and temperatures 62 to 67 degrees along with southeast
winds up to 5 mph.
