THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. RISK...Limited. AREA...Far Northeast Oklahoma near the Oklahoma Kansas border. ONSET...This Evening. DANGEROUS HEAT. RISK...Limited. AREA...Northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Temperatures in the 90s with heat indices in excess of 100 degrees across northeast Oklahoma will continue into the evening until cooling near sunset. Isolated to scattered storms will approach northeast Oklahoma this evening but likely weaken as they continue to move south and east. Areas near the Oklahoma Kansas border will have a slight chance of storms this evening with locally strong outflow winds possible. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential. SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... There is a low chance for isolated thunderstorms Friday across northeast Oklahoma into far northwest Arkansas. A brief strong storm is possible during the afternoon and evening hours. Also, hot and humid conditions will overspread the region with heat index values 100 to 105 degrees likely for portions of the region. Low thunderstorm chances continue Saturday into Sunday as the next storm system passes.
