.DISCUSSION...Warm and relatively dry weather in the Western Interior and for
areas not directly on the coast continues for the next several
days. Highs will broadly be in the mid 60s to mid 70s today and
Friday, with minimum relative humidity values falling into the
upper 20s to mid 30s in the Western Interior. Widely scattered
thunderstorms are expected today in more easterly locations, with
isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. Widely scattered thunderstorms
will also be possible tomorrow along an axis extending from south
of Ambler to near Crooked Creek, with isolated thunderstorms again
possible for most inland locations. Wetting rains will be possible
in the Southwestern Interior Friday with showers and thunderstorms
in the area. Winds will generally remain relatively light during
this period save this afternoon, when northerly gradient winds up
to 15 mph will be possible in the Western Interior. Saturday will bring
decreasing thunderstorm coverage with just isolated storms expected except for
a small area of widely scattered thunderstorms from McGrath to Galena to Huslia.
Temperatures and RHs will be a few degrees and a few percent cooler and wetter
close to the coast than on Friday, but a few degrees warmer and a few percent
drier further into the Interior.
