Temperatures continue to creep up across West Central Texas, but
in addition, the continued southeast flow off the Gulf Of Mexico
is bringing in better low level moisture. After dewpoints dropped
down in the upper 50s and lower 60s on Monday afternoon, they
stayed in the mid and upper 60s on Tuesday afternoon and are
forecasted to remain in the upper 60s to near 70 forecasted this
afternoon. These readings will push Heat INdex values into the 105
to 108 range across much of the area and have therefore expanded
the Heat Advisory across much more of the area for this afternoon.

Otherwise, forecasted highs today will be near or maybe a degree
or two hotter than what we saw on Tuesday. With this much moisture
in place, overnight lows will struggle to drop much below the 80
degree mark.

Hot and dry conditions continue into next week. Upper ridge over
the Southwest U.S. and Texas will elongate and spread eastward
Thursday into the weekend. Highs of 100 to 104 expected again
Thursday, but temperatures may fall a degree or two this weekend,
before increasing back up 1 degree or two Monday and Tuesday.
Heat advisories may be needed Thursday for the Concho Valley, Big
Country and Heartland.

Beyond the 7 day day forecast, for the 4th of July, models
indicate an area of relative weakness in the upper ridge, so
there could be some isolated thunderstorm development,
particularly in the Big Country. However, uncertainty is high
that far out.

Similarly to yesterday, mostly VFR conditions will prevail across
West Central Texas terminals through Wednesday evening. Some
patchy MVFR cigs will be possible for a few hours after sunrise
across the southern locations, but should quickly lift and
dissipate. Otherwise, light south to southeast winds will prevail,
occasionally gusting up around 20 mph during daylight hours.
