...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 AM CDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following
  counties, Linn and Miami and west central Missouri, including the
  following counties, Bates and Cass.

* WHEN...Until 515 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1120 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible
    in the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Harrisonville, Paola, Peculiar, Osawatomie, Louisburg,
    Butler, Adrian, Garden City, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound
    City, Archie, Drexel, Linn Valley, Cleveland, Freeman, East
    Lynne, Parker, Fontana and Lake Annette.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
