This extends the previous areal flood warnings which were in effect. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O`Brien, Osceola and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following counties, Jackson, Nobles and Rock, and southeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Clay, Davison, Hanson, Hutchinson, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner and Union. * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1257 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 4 and 16 inches of rain have fallen, highest across portions of Turner and Lincoln Counties in South Dakota, as well as Sioux and Lyon Counties in Iowa, where widespread 10 to 16 inches of rain fell. - Flooding impacts will continue, but the chance for additional rainfall in the next 2 to 3 days is low. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
