KEY MESSAGES: 1) Breezy west to northwest winds are expected on Friday behind the cold front, with Lake Wind conditions. Gusts to around 40 mph are expected. 2) Cooler temperatures are also expected Friday and Saturday with showers and isolated thunderstorms Friday. 3) Another round of thunderstorms can be expected late Sunday. Severe thunderstorms are possible. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Vertically stacked low pressure over the Prairie Provinces will drop into Montana Friday, bringing showers, isolated mainly afternoon thunderstorms and plenty of wind. It`ll probably feel more like early May rather than late June as temperatures are only expected to top out in the 60s most places. Upper ridging will guide warm and dry weather on Saturday before more ensembles hint at more active weather early next week. This next system looks to move in late Sunday. This system could also bring severe thunderstorms to the area but specifics are still fuzzy this far out. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: Will turn our attention to the system that moves in Sunday. Severe thunderstorm chances are there but initially don`t look as strong as with this system. Wind gusts Friday will probably be accelerated by showers. Gusts to 50 mph cannot be ruled out in their vicinity. TFJ && .AVIATION... Updated: 0345z Flight Conditions: VFR, but MVFR KGGW/KOLF possibly KSDY Friday.
