The Central High Plains region observed showers and embedded storms
across the area overnight. At 2am MDT (3am CDT) temperatures ranged
from 65 degrees in Yuma, Colorado to 75 degrees in Goodland,
Kansas.

OUTLOOK... warm and humid conditions, for High Plains standards,
are forecast for today as a moist air mass moves into the area.
Highs for the day are in the 90s across most of the area with 80s
over the east where cloud cover is forecast to persist through the
day. Scattered thunderstorms, some severe, look to develop across
the area during the afternoon and through the evening. Torrential
rainfall will accompany any storm due to the moist air mass in
place. Friday will again see highs in the upper 80s to 90s across
the area with another potential for severe storms during the
afternoon. Daily afternoon potential for showers and storms will
continue through the weekend.
