321 FNUS54 KHUN 221008 FWFHUN Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama National Weather Service Huntsville AL 508 AM CDT Sun Sep 22 2024 .DISCUSSION... A mid-level area of high pressure will spread eastward along the Gulf Coast through Monday, maintaining a weather pattern featuring hot temperatures across the TN Valley. Although a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible today, the greatest concentration of this activity should occur across northeast AL, where chances for wetting rainfall are in the 20-30% range. A similar configuration is anticipated on Monday, with the highest probabilities for afternoon showers and storms across the northern half of the forecast area. Afternoon RH values will be in the 40-50% range both today and Monday, with smoke dispersion in the generally good-good category. It currently appears as if chances for beneficial rainfall will increase during the Tuesday- Thursday timeframe, as a frontal boundary will shift southeastward into the region and stall. Additional rainfall may occur toward the end of the week and into next weekend, but the level of uncertainty at this time range increases considerably. Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy early morning mist/fog will be possible each day from today-Tuesday. Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
