Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
255 PM CDT Sat Sep 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A series of weather systems will bring widespread rain and
periods of scattered thunderstorms to central and especially
southeast IL the next few days. Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3
inches are forecast by Tuesday south of I-72, with generally
one half to 1.5 inches to the north. Ventilation will be
generally poor due to low mixing heights combined with modest
transport winds. A cold front will gradually push southeast
across the area Sunday, shifting winds from tonight`s light
southerly predominant wind to northerly by Sunday night.
