Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
455 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Patchy fog is possible this morning & again Friday morning,
especially in areas that received more significant rainfall.
Scattered to numerous coverage of showers & isolated storms is
expected today across southeast to eastern fire districts,
beginning in the northeast around midday & spreading generally
southward. Fire danger is not expected the next several days, but
fuels over the last month have become seasonably dry. High
pressure will strengthen back over the region late week into the
weekend resulting in a greater concern of dangerous heat &
humidity again as well as lower chances for rain. Another
disturbance may bring greater rain chances to the region Sunday &
Monday, with oppressive heat & humidity gradually migrating
southward into early next week. Dangerous heat & humidity will
become more oppressive through the middle of next week.
