...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CHERRY COUNTY
THROUGH MIDNIGHT CDT...

At 1109 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles west of Merritt Reservoir, or 30 miles southwest of Valentine,
moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Valentine, Crookston, Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, Steer
Creek Campground, and Anderson Bridge State Wildlife Management Area.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 20 between mile markers 179 and 200.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 124 and 141.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 213 and 222.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in North Platte.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
north central Nebraska.
