Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Elko NV
409 AM PDT Tue May 14 2024

...Warm temperatures this week will lead to an accelerated snowmelt
on the remaining mountain snowpack, resulting in higher flows on
area creeks and rivers...

Melting of high elevation snow pack continues to accelerate this
week as temperatures rise to around 10 degrees above normal.
Overnight low temperatures at higher elevations where snowpack
remains may not fall below freezing for the next several nights.
With the increased snow melt and runoff, area rivers and creeks
will see enhanced flows. If and when river gauge water levels
reach action stage or higher, additional hydrologic products will
be issued.

Outdoor enthusiasts should use caution as the water is very cold
and a person could be swept away by the fast flowing water.
