Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
935 PM EDT Thu Jun 27 2024

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS... A 30.0 inch high pressure ridge over the Upper Great
Lakes today will shift into Lower Great Lakes tonight and into
New England on Friday in response to a 29.5 inch low pressure
approaching from the Northern Plains. This low will then weaken
29.6 inches as it tracks across Lake Superior Friday night and
Saturday morning. As the low heads toward southern Quebec on
Saturday, 30.2 inch high pressure will build over the Northern
Plains. The high will then build to 30.3 inches as it shifts east,
reaching the Western Great Lakes Sunday evening before moving
into the Lower Great Lakes Monday. Expect pressure falls Tuesday
before a surface low moving through Ontario drags a 29.7 inch
trough across the lake Tuesday afternoon and evening.
