...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL EDDY COUNTY THROUGH
445 PM MDT...

At 400 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles northeast of Avalon, or 19 miles northeast of Carlsbad, moving
northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of east central Eddy
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Midland.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT for
southeastern New Mexico.
