...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CRAVEN...
SOUTHEASTERN PAMLICO AND CENTRAL CARTERET COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM
EDT...

At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Great Neck, or 11 miles east of Havelock, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Cedar Island, South River, Merrimon, Harlowe, Janeiro, Whortonsville,
Great Neck, Open Grounds Farm, Nc Pamlico, North Harlowe, Cherry
Branch Ferry Terminal, Minnesott Beach Ferry, Cedar Island Ferry
Terminal, Arapahoe, and Minnesott Beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
