Tropical Weather Discussion for the Western North Pacific between
the Equator and 25N from 130E to 180. The following information is
based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar,
and meteorological analysis.

...SPECIAL FEATURES...

None.

...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS...

NEAR EQUATORIAL TROUGH...
The Near-Equatorial Trough (NET) enters the region at 15N130E east of
the Philippines and extends southeast to 7N134E near Koror. This is
producing numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms within within
75 miles of the trough axis. The NET is expected to continue moving
northwest and be outside of the AOR by tomorrow.

...ITCZ...
The western boundary of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)
is seen near Eauripik at around 5N145E where spotty showers can be
seen south of Chuuk and Satawal to the equator. The ITCZ extends
east-northeast, passing south of Chuuk, then extends through Pohnpei
and Kosrae, and ends near Majuro. The ITCZ remains weak and
fragmented, pockets of showers and isolated thunderstorms are seen
in areas of embedded trade-wind troughs. The western portion of the
ITCZ near Eauripik is expected to develop and bring an increase in
showers for the outer islands of Chuuk State.

TRADE-WIND TROUGHS...Embedded within a weak ITCZ, trade-wind troughs
over Kosrae and Majuro are producing scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms over a localized area. These trough are
expected to continue to produce localized showers along the ITCZ.

TUTT...
An upper-level low is seen near 16N132E and is producing scattered
showers and thunderstorms along the southern portion of the low. It
extends eastward to north of the Mariana Islands. Another Tropical
Upper-Tropospheric Trough (TUTT) comes down from 25N180 to 10N162E
near the Marshall Islands. Widespread cloudiness and light to
moderate showers are seen east of the TUTT`s trough axis. Another
TUTT is expected to move across the Mariana Islands later tonight
through Wednesday.
