Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
638 AM MDT Fri Jun 14 2024

.Discussion...

Expect the storms to develop over the San Juans and the San Luis
Valley around 11am, reaching the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the
I-25 corridor around 3PM, and exiting the state by around 8PM. There
will be isolated thunderstorms over the eastern mountains and I-25
corridor Saturday afternoon. The next chance for showers and
thunderstorms will be next Wednesday.

Very hot temperatures will return to the region on Monday, which
will aid in drying out the fuels across southern Colorado. Tuesday
there will be strong southwesterly winds across the region which
will present a critical fire weather day, if the fuels are deemed
critical across the region.

Ventilations rates will range from Poor to Good east of I25 and
Very Good to Excellent west of I-25.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
