Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1250 PM MDT Wed Jun 5 2024

.Discussion...

Hot and dry conditions will return today, though with a little less
wind as high pressure out west edges eastward into Colorado.
Northwest winds will increase during the afternoon across the mountains
with gusts to 20 to 25 mph possible at times. A cold front drops
through the plains Wednesday night bringing a slight cool down for
eastern areas on Thursday. Temperatures will soar again for
Friday though increasing moisture will lead to more clouds and isolated
to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorm chances
increase and temperatures cool down for the weekend into early next
week. The best chances for wetting rains during this period will be
across the southeast mountains and plains until Monday when moisture
out west increases chances of wetting rains along the Continental Divide
as well. Another drying and warming trend will settle in for next week.

Afternoon dispersions will rise into the good to excellent category
today. Similar afternoon dispersions can be expected for Thursday,
except on the plains where dispersions will be limited to fair to
good.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
