730 FXUS64 KTSA 251355 AFDTSA Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tulsa OK 855 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE... Issued at 855 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 Dense Fog Advisory has been extended until 10 AM this morning across parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Visibility conditions are starting to improve but areas of dense fog remain. Conditions are expected to improve through the morning giving way to a nice day today. Bowlan && .SHORT TERM... (Today) Issued at 345 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 Areas of dense fog have developed early this morning, mainly in places that saw rain last evening and where skies cleared relatively early. The fog will dissipate around mid morning, with abundant sunshine expected for the rest of the day. Afternoon high temperatures will generally range from the upper 70s to lower 80s. && .LONG TERM... (Tonight through Tuesday) Issued at 345 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 A cutoff upper low to our east will interact with the remnants of soon to be Hurricane Helene over the coming days, with the latest model data indicating this will occur a bit farther to the east than previously expected. As a result, most rainfall will remain east of our forecast area later Thursday night and Friday, with any rain in our area being confined mainly to western Arkansas. This system will shift slowly east over the weekend taking any rain chances with it and leaving pleasant weather over our area. A weak cold front looks to move through early next week with little fanfare except to knock temperatures down slightly. Overall, temperatures over the next week will remain within a few degrees of the seasonal averages. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 607 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024 Dense fog will persist for terminals in eastern OK and northwest AR through 14Z before diminishing completely by 15-16Z. During this time visibility of 1/4 mile or less will be common with very low ceilings. KBVO should remain clear or mostly clear. KFSM will most likely continue to see low ceilings near 1 kft but little or no fog. During the late morning north wind at 5-10 kts with a few higher gusts will develop. Late tonight the wind will shift to northeast and become lighter but skies will remain clear. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
